Terms and Conditions

The information you provide when joining the New South Wales Register of Nominees to Government Bodies (the Register), including personal information, must be true and correct.

 By using this site, you agree: 

  1. not to transmit any information which is indecent, obscene or pornographic;
  2. not to use the website to conduct any illegal activity or solicit the performance of any illegal activity;
  3. not to spam your contribution to the website by sending multiple copies or versions of it;
  4. not to contribute material to the website that contains or links to any commercial advertising material;
  5. not to attempt to modify, adapt, translate, sell, reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble any portion of the website;
  6. not to tamper with other persons' access to the website or commit unauthorised intrusion into any part of the website, including computers, files, accounts, networks and equipment;
  7. not to attempt to bypass the network firewall;
  8. not to use any part of the website for which you are not authorised or devise ways to circumvent security in order to access part of the website for which you are not authorised. That includes but is not limited to, scanning networks with the intent to breach and/or evaluate security, whether or not the intrusion results in access or not; and
  9. not to attempt to misuse the website. This includes but is not limited to password cracking, social engineering (defrauding others into releasing their passwords), denial of service attacks, harmful and malicious destruction of data, injection of computer viruses, intentional invasion of privacy.

These conditions are governed by and construed according to the laws in force in the State of New South Wales.

Notice under the Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998 (the PPIP Act)

This Privacy Notice explains how The Cabinet Office will manage the personal and health information we collect from you for the purpose of assisting public sector agencies to identify suitable candidates for a NSW Government appointment.

What personal information is being collected?

We are collecting two types of personal information from you.  They are:

Essential personal information, which includes:

  • Full Name
  • CV
  • Suburb/postcode of residence
  • Year of birth
  • Email address
  • Telephone number
  • Mobile number.

And

Optional personal and health information, which includes:

  • Gender
  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander (ATSI) status
  • Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) status
  • Person with a Disability (PWD).

Do I have to provide my personal information?

You are not required by law to provide your personal information.

However, if you want to be considered for an appointment, you must provide your essential personal information. 

If you choose not to provide your optional personal information, it will not affect your being considered for appointment.

Why is my personal information being collected?

Your personal information is being collected for the purpose of assisting public sector agencies to identify suitable candidates for a NSW Government appointment.

How will my personal information be used and to whom will it be disclosed?

Your personal information will be:

  • uploaded into the “Boards and Committees Register”, which is managed by The Cabinet Office (contact information below)
  • provided, as necessary, to other NSW public sector agencies to allow them to assess your suitability for a NSW Government appointment
  • if you are considered suitable for such an appointment, your information may then be provided to the NSW Cabinet or to the Minister who is responsible for approving your appointment
  • if necessary for the purposes of considering your appointment, provided to other NSW public sector agencies.

If you provide your optional personal and/or health information, it will be used for the purpose of reporting on diversity and inclusion practices and statistics across the NSW Government.  Your name will not be disclosed in that reporting.

If you are appointed, your name and remuneration will be:

  • used to generate a report which will be disclosed to other NSW public sector agencies, Ministers and the Premier, for the purpose of identifying upcoming vacancies and assist with forward planning of appointments
  • published on The Cabinet Office’s website in the list of current boards and committees.

Consent for use and disclosure of ATSI, CALD and PWD

If you choose to provide your ATSI status your CALD status and/or your PWD status, we need your agreement to allow us to use and disclose that information in each of the ways listed above.  We will ask you to indicate your agreement when you complete your registration.

How can I find out what information you hold about me?

You have the right to access your personal information. To do that, you may contact The Cabinet Office. You also have the right to request that the information is amended, for example, if it is incorrect.
